Alka Palrecha is the co-founder of People in Centre, Ahmedabad, a consulting organisation working at the intersection of communities, civil society, and governments on developmental issues. She holds a PhD in Planning from CEPT University and a Master’s in Landscape Architecture from the School of Planning and Architecture, New Delhi, and was a Humphrey Fulbright Fellow at MIT, Cambridge, USA. She played a pivotal role in building an interface between communities, civil society, and Gujarat’s irrigation department to address coastal salinity ingress. Her current work reframes wastewater beyond narratives of pollution alone, exploring its livelihood potential, while focusing on institutionalising policies for safe, reliable, and equitable water access for all.

Over three decades, his practice has spanned civil and criminal jurisprudence, including counsel to the Dawoodi Bohra community, Employees’ Provident Fund litigation, and service as Public Prosecutor for the State of Gujarat.
